Johanna's weighted blanket warms

The warm throw blanket from the Pohjanmaa series, Johanna, is designed and made in Finland. The beautifully flower-illustrated blanket is like a piece of art.

Johanna lammin viltti Pohjanmaalta v3

Johanna throw blanket's delicate apple blossoms and midsummer roses beautifully meander along one edge. The throw blanket is double-sided, with a black or grey-beige background and a grey or yellow edge.

This blanket represents Finnish design, made from high-quality natural materials. The pattern was designed by Sofie Staffans-Lytz in collaboration with Aveo. Annala manufactures the blanket. This is a fine example of collaboration between the designer, home decor shop, and manufacturer from Ostrobothnia. The blanket carries the Design from Finland and Made in Finland labels.

The warm throw blanket is woven using the jacquard technique. Its double-layer hollow structure forms air pockets, making the wool blanket especially warm.

The throw blanket is made of 60% wool and 40% cotton. The smooth-surfaced blanket is easy to care for. Wool has its own superpowers, such as being anti-static, soft, and warm. Wool is breathable, antibacterial, and dirt-repellent.

The blankets are made by Annala in Lapua, Southern Ostrobothnia, which is a fine example of Finnish textile industry expertise. All yarns come from certified European yarn factories. No post-processing chemicals are used, making the blanket environmentally friendly and a pure natural product.

The Johanna throw blanket features a beautiful design.

Care Instructions

  • The blanket will last longer if it is aired instead of washed. You can air the blanket when it is cold or moist outside. If it rains, the blanket must be aired under cover.
  • For washing, we recommend professional wool emulsion cleaning.
  • The blanket can be hand washed. Use lukewarm water and liquid detergent intended for wool. Do not let the blanket soak wet; wash it immediately. Do not rub or wring, but wash gently. Gently squeeze the water out after hand washing. Water can also be squeezed out between two towels. Shape the blanket while it is wet.
  • The blanket can be washed in your washing machine, but it absorbs a lot of water and becomes very heavy. The washing machine must support 8 kg. For machine washing at home, a 30-degree wool wash cycle and liquid detergent intended for wool are recommended. No tumble drying. Once the washing machine is finished, you can gently squeeze out the water and air dry the blanket. It is advisable to dry it flat.
  • The blanket can be ironed at a maximum of 150 degrees under a damp towel.

The Johanna blanket is double-sided.
