The environment is important – this is what we do at Aveo for our climate

Aveo recycles packaging

Many of the packages we send to our customers are packed in boxes that have already been used at least once. We save a large portion of the boxes that our products come in and use them again when we ship deliveries. The padding in the packages is 100% recycled packing paper or bubble wrap made from at least 50% recycled materials. We also reuse packing fill that came in packages to us from suppliers. We think the extra time is well worth it!

Aveo uses paper tape

We have decided not to purchase plastic-based tape anymore. We use up the rolls we have left, but when we buy new, they are paper-based. Already today, we mostly use paper-based tape.

Paper tape is better for the environment than tape made from plastic.

Aveo avoids extra printing

Our deliveries to customers do not contain any extra paper such as return forms or delivery notes. All information is sent to the customer digitally when we send the package. The only thing we print is the address label. 

Aveo avoids partial deliveries

Whenever possible, we send all the products that the customer has ordered in one package. If the customer has ordered several different items with very different delivery times, we might make an exception if the customer requests it.

Aveo provides information about our products' contents and certifications

Each product has information about what it is made of and what environmental certifications the company/product has. We refrain from purchasing certain products because they are not good for the environment - for example, we do not sell candles that contain paraffin because paraffin emits carcinogenic substances and increases carbon dioxide emissions.

Aveo chooses local suppliers

Two-thirds of all the brands whose products we sell are from Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, and Estonia. The last third are European companies. We prefer to buy our goods from companies that are relatively close to us, as transportation distances are shorter. We also highly value that many of our suppliers have their production in the nearby area.

Aveo focuses on wallpaper

Wallpaper is not a disposable product. Wallpaper is a product that lasts many years and is often timeless. Our customers can order wallpaper samples in advance and choose wallpapers that they are sure will fit. We allow returns on whole, unopened rolls of wallpaper - instead of them being left unused or thrown away, they are used by the next customer.

Wallpapers are a sustainable option. Customers choose timeless wallpapers that they can have for many years.

Aveo sells quality

We try to choose timeless but still modern quality products for our range - both so that the customer will be satisfied and use their product for many years, but also to reduce the number of returns and complaints. Sometimes things go wrong, and a product is defective - then we either give the customer a discount so that they feel the product is still worth keeping, or we take the product back and use it ourselves or sell it locally at a lower price. We always strive for every product to be used.

Aveo creates employment in rural areas

Aveo is located in the village of Komossa in Vörå, Ostrobothnia. Komossa has 140 inhabitants, and Aveo is the largest employer in the village. All of us who work at Aveo live close to our workplace, and our commuting distances are short. We work from home when we can to further reduce car use.

No one is perfect, but everyone can do something

We at Aveo do our part and do the best we can. Surely, there is much we can do much better, but we are constantly learning and gaining new insights and new environmentally friendly routines and working methods. If all of us who live on earth would think about what contributions we can make for the environment, the climate, and our surroundings and actually do what we can - then the future for coming generations would look much better.
