Imagine a school cafeteria or staff dining room with a hundred chairs - a hundred people one by one pulling the chair closer to the table and sitting down. Then they finish in turn and the clatter of scraping chair noises is constant. With Silent Socks acoustic socks on the chair legs, the noise can be significantly reduced and the entire lunch break will feel more pleasant.

Silent Socks is a Swedish product. Designer Eva Eriksson had worked on various day care projects - and noticed that the need to dampen noise was constant. For three years she tested different solutions and at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2010, the Silent Socks product was launched.

Silent Socks are now available in two different versions, original and HD (heavy duty). The original is suitable for smooth floors such as lacquered parquet, linoleum, or plastic floors. The HD variant is designed for use on tiled and stone floors, laminate floors with texture, or floors with seams.

In addition to reducing noise by up to 18 decibels, Silent Socks also eliminate the need to lift heavy chairs, prevent scratches on the floor, and best of all - it hurts less when you hit your toe on the chair leg.

The stylish furniture socks become part of the decor. The original model has an outer sock of 95 percent felted wool, while the HD model is a mixture of synthetic materials and a bit of wool. Both have a rubber ball inside that makes Silent Socks fit securely on the chair leg. The acoustic socks are extremely easy to install, just slide onto the round steel tube leg and start using, no tools needed.

Silent Socks are perfect for public environments where wear and tear are high, such as schools, offices, or healthcare facilities. But they are also common in many private homes.

The acoustic socks can be vacuumed when they get dusty. They can also be washed in the washing machine at 30-40 degrees, a program for wool, and then tumble dried.

Here you can see/hear a test video showing the difference between using acoustic socks or not.
